- My question concerns a separate Quicken Premier 2017 for Windows (R10) data file that duplicates all the data from all the same accounts as my Quicken-Mac data file. The Windows Quicken app hasn't updated yet, and since updating the Mac app, I have not attempted to download transactions to the Windows data file.
Which version of Quicken should i download?

As John_in_NC wrote, you have 3 Editions of Quicken for Mac to choose from, but really just two. Deluxe or Premier, if you want continue access to your Quicken Data File, if you choose to enter your data manually after your Quicken Membership expires.
Why? See: https://www.quicken.com/support/what-quicken-data-access-guarantee
Starter becomes Read-Only! If you allow your Membership to lapse.
Also, if you should get a Windows Computer in he future, while your Membership is in effect, you can download and use Quicken for Windows.

- edited April 2019Whether or not you can get 2007 to continue to run under Mojave, it is definitely time to upgrade before time runs out.
The current subscription version is Quicken for Mac 2019. It comes in three flavors: Starter, Deluxe, and Premiere, and all versions will import your 2007 file. You can determine which version suits your needs best.

The same program is designed to work in both Canada and the US if that applies to you. - Thank you for your quick reply.
Does the same hold true if I purchase and download the program--i.e.
that I can get a version of Mac 2019 and it will import my files from Quicken 2007? - Quicken, like many other software applications, has gone to a yearly subscription model for support and upgrades. You still download the application as you did with 2007, and that application will import your 2007 file.
You may see mention of the mobile applications and services-you don't have to use that if you don't wish to. Your data still resides on your computer just as with 2007. - Accepted AnswerMarjorieFrank ,

- Note that QM2007 DOES run on Mojave (macOS 10.14) but it will probably be the last macOS that will support it. After that, you will either have to wait to upgrade your macOS until you upgrade Quicken or you can run QM2007 in a VM (virtual machine).
The only feature that does not work with Mojave is the automatic backups. You can either turn that feature off or read about work-arounds here:- Is Quicken for Mac 2007 Compatible with Mojave (macOS 10.14)?
I suggest that you make sure that the subscription for Quicken for Mac will meet your needs, since it is not an upgrade from QM2007 but rather from Quicken Essentials (which was re-written from the ground up, starting in 2010, then continued with QM2015 onward), so there are some features that are still not there e.g. full loan amortization*, 2-line display, QuickMath, or are not as fully developed yet, e.g. Customized Reports, performance reports and stats (therefore some data may not carry over). You can start here:*NOTE: Support for fixed rate loans has been released as of QM2017 v4.5.x but there is no announced timing for support for variable rate or simple daily interest loans.Currently, the main advantages of subscription to Quicken for Mac over QM2007 include the ability to sync cash, bank, and credit card accounts using Quicken Mobile for mobile devices (iOS and Android) and the ability to save receipts with transactions via computer or mobile device. There are a few other minor features that QM2007 does not have. Note that online access is supposed to continue as long as the FI/Bank supports it and their security updates don't prevent it.Please note that Quicken for Mac is now a subscription-based product currently available for 1 year directly from Quicken or 2 yrs from retailers (which are often cheaper than Quicken). (If you are able to find QM2017 which is a pre-subscription product, it is supported until April 2020), whereas currently QM2007 will continue to work as long as your FIs/Banks support it, so keep that in mind. You may want to review the List of Obstacles and Hindrances for Migrating from QM2007 or QWin to Quicken for Mac.Add your vote to any features that are missing for you. If you chose a Mac instead of a PC when you purchased a new computer, you may need to make some adjustments to import your files. If you want to transfer your Quicken files from your PC to your new Mac, you need to prepare the old files for that process. The Mac version of Quicken offers a different set of options and abilities than the PC version but Quicken does support exporting your PC files so you can import them on a Mac. Quicken supports transferring your accounts, securities, transactions and categories to Mac.
Prepare PC Files
Step 1
Go to your account list by clicking the 'Tools' menu and selecting 'Account List.' Click the 'Options' drop-down list and click 'View Hidden Accounts.' On the 'Manage Accounts' tab, remove checks from all of the checked 'Hide in Quicken' check boxes. For any account that has a name with more than 15 characters, right-click and select 'Edit.' Rename it with fewer than 15 characters and click 'OK.' Repeat this process with any other account name that has more than 15 characters.
Step 2
Click an account in your account list and click the 'Accept All' button under the Downloaded Transactions tab. How to opem dmg on windows 10. Go to the scheduled bills and deposits and click the 'Cancel' button for each one with a repeating or pending status.
Step 3
Click the 'Tools' menu and click 'Category List.' For any category with a name with more than 15 characters, right-click and select 'Edit.' Rename it with fewer than 15 characters and click 'OK.' Repeat this process with any other category with a name longer than 15 characters.
Step 4
Click 'Investing Menu' and then 'Security List' to go to the Security List. For any security with a name that has special symbols, right-click and select 'Edit.' Adjust the name so there are no special symbols and repeat this process with any other securities with special symbols in their names. Use this same process to adjust ticker symbols so they all only have uppercase letters.
Step 1
Click the 'File' menu, then click the 'Export' sub-menu. Click 'QIF File.'
Step 2
Click the 'Browse' button and navigate to the folder in which you want to use to store your QIF files. Enter 'Security List.QIF' in the File Name field. Click the 'OK' button.
Step 3
Select 'All Accounts' from the drop-down list and check 'Security Lists.' Uncheck every other box. Leave the default date range and click the 'OK' button. Repeat these steps for an Accounts.QIF file, Transactions.QIF file and a Categories.QIF file. Check only the Accounts box, Transactions box, or Categories box, correlating to the QIF file you are creating.
Step 4
Connect some form of removable drive that is compatible with both Windows and Mac to your PC and transfer the QIF files onto it. Disconnect or eject it after the transfer is completed.
Step 1
Macos create iso from dmg. Launch Quicken on your Mac.
Step 2
Click the 'File' menu, hover over the 'New' sub-menu and select 'File.' In the window that comes up, click 'New Quicken File' and click 'OK.' Enter the name of your file in the 'Save As' field. Select the location to save your file from the drop-down list labeled 'Where.' Check the category you use these Quicken files for, either home or business, and click 'Create.'

Repeat this process with your Accounts.QIF, Transactions.QIF and Categories.QIF files.
